Vikki Aiken wanted to be a singer. She wanted to inspire people like Alex Gaskarth and Taylor Swift inspired her. She wanted to write songs people could relate to. She wants to share her story with the world, through music. Her mom died when she was nine, so she was left with her dad and little brother. She had to grow up faster than most little girls to take care of her brother and dad. Her dad doesn't support her though. He wants her to be a lawyer, something that will make money easily. At school she's the popular, pretty girl with a great voice. But nobody understands her dreams.
 
Candi Knight wants to be a photographer. She wants to capture those rare moments on camera. She's always felt better with a camera in her hands. And she's a good photographer. She's won awards. But her parents don't think she's good enough to make it in the real world, so they don't help her with anything. At home, her parents don't talk to her, at school everybody still calls her a s.lut from when she dated the senior boy in her sophomore year. She's alone. But she has never lost her goofy, fun, quirky spirit. She's sarcastic and has a quick tongue. She is always honest about her opinions. That gets her into trouble a lot though. She prefers hook ups to relationships. She just hasn't met the right guy yet. Or so she thinks.
 
Riley Westley is a actor. Well he wants to be one. He does school theatre and community theatre. If he doesn't get in, he works backstage or helps the director. He's had girlfriends, but that doesn't stop people thinking he's gay. The rumors spread like wildfires in his school. He feels alone. He's always felt alone. His parents love him, but they don't notice that he's always angry or depressed. Which is easy to see. He never shows it until he's alone. People always come to him for advice, but he never follows his own advice. He doesn't think it'll work for him. He knows Candi, but she doesn't remember him. He does though. Because she is the prettiest girl he's ever seen. He met her at a rehearsal for Into The Woods, because she was the photographer. He's never forgotten her face. All he wants is to leave Piermont, NY and get to the city. As soon as possible. And maybe find love on the way.
